OTF’s Resilient Communities Fund
The Confederation Court Community House and the Ottawa Coalition of Community Houses would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and its funder, the Government of Ontario, for their generous investment in our project to establish IT infrastructure and create a unified network among the members of the Ottawa Coalition of Community Houses.
Thanks to this funding, we’ve been able to develop and implement a customized database that meets the unique needs of each community house while maintaining consistency across the system. This tool allows us to track programming, collect data, and enhance the accuracy of our reporting.
With the support of Toos Technical Solutions, a local IT partner, we’ve been able to create individualized database functions for each organization while ensuring the system remains cohesive. This shift from paper-based record keeping to a shared, digital database will significantly improve our ability to report, track services and contacts, enhance cybersecurity, and streamline daily operations.
As this is a two-year project, we’ve already made significant progress in the first year. Several community houses are already using the system, and we’ve been able to test and refine it to better suit their needs. In addition, we’ve provided training and support to staff and leadership to ensure a seamless transition.
The goals of this project — improving the accuracy of our record keeping and reporting — are critical not only for fulfilling our mandated responsibilities in the community but also for capturing the full range of services and support we provide. Understanding the broader impact of our work will allow us to continue enhancing the depth and scope of our community engagement.
Once again, we thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Government of Ontario for their support. We are excited to continue delivering safe, effective programs and services, and to embrace new ways of working that help us better serve our clients and foster stronger, more vibrant communities.
